Updates from families of July 2006 puppies!
|
Splash Boy - Zag, aka Bob, has gone to Port Townsend to his new home. We look forward to hearing how he is doing.
Update 11/26/06: |
Ps. I'm thinking about doing agility training with him. The owner of the daycare said Toby has a perfect stride and he wants to start training him with me.

Update: 9/10/06Just wanted to drop you a quick note to let you know "Zig" (I think we are going to rename him "Ben") is doing well. Rode home on TJ's lap yesterday and slept most of the way.
Roxie and Meeshka were very happy to meet him yesterday and he was really very comfortable with them too. He had fun exploring the back yard yesterday (with supervision of course) and the house. Found which of Roxies toys he likes best and she and he kept trading them back and forth. Actually heard him bark and growl for the first time when he was playing with a purple rubber squeaky ball he particularly likes.
Last night he was pretty good, we had company for dinner and he settled down in his kennel pretty well with only a bit of crying at first. Took him out to go potty at about 11:00 and then we all went to bed. He cried again in his kennel for about a minute then fell asleep and didn't wake up until 5:30 this morning. I was actually quite amazed he made it so long. I'm a very light sleeper and was hyper aware of him all night and although I continuously woke up to see if he needed to go out, he didn't. Must have been very pooped from all the play with his new big friends.
Today we got up and had a good long play time. Roxie has a new shadow and if he isn't following her she is taking her new job of keeping track of him very seriously. I think she is going to be a great roll model for him.
Right now I'm sitting in the kitchen writing this and he is crashed out in his kennel in his corner of the room. Both the other dogs are crashed out too. I think having a youngster around will be good for all of us.
Look forward to seeing you in a couple weeks.
Jacqui and TJ
UPDATE 11/6/06
Ben is doing great. He is such a sweet little boy. He's very polite and attentive too. He has got HUGE front legs and feet. I'll bet he's going to dwarf Roxie. Roxie and Ben have taken to playing hide and seek around the house. It's fun to watch them working out how to sneak up on and find the other. Ben is proving to be very smart!

Blue Merle Splash Boy now living with the Hess family
9/8/06 Update: Blizzard is doing great. He is so sweet. He loves company and is very well behaved. . . The kids are in heaven. Rainier our other Aussie is a bit jealous but has been very sweet with Blizzard. He slept in the kids room in a crate last night. Devon my youngest and I helped him through the night.
Just thought I'd drop a line. Things are going really well. Blizzard is a very sweet dog. He loves our other Aussie and all the other pets. . . Sara |

Update 9/14/06:
Hi Tina and Family,
We named our blue boy Hank! He is doing great. I think he likes his new home. The first night he cried a lot but that's it. He now pretty much sleeps through he night with no accidents. If he does get up it is to go potty and then right back to bed. Thank you so much for such a wonderful puppy! We are so happy with him. He follows me most everywhere. Last night we gave him a bath and he did good. I will send you some pictures soon. . . Thank you all again, we will keep in touch.
Andrew and Alicia Hutchason
Update 12/2/06:
Hank is doing so good! Here are some pictures of him. The ones at the beach were just last week and Hank had a blast. He is really smart, the best dog ever!
Talk to you soon
Andrew and Alicia
9/8/06 Update: Tina Thanks. . . The crate, she does not love. I don't know if it was the ride home or forcing it too soon, but she howls when the gate shuts. Last night was tough, but there was a 4 hour stretch that worked. I haven't been up at 4:45am since staying up that late in college. She is sleeping at my feet right now . . . I should have her in a crate, but oh well. I am going to try and feed her dinner in the crate and see if we can warm up her feelings on the subject. The potty training is going OK . . . . although she just fell asleep before I took her out to poop after lunch . . . so am probably setting myself up for a problem soon. She is truly wonderful though . . . so smart and loving. Thanks for your support and advice and wonderful breeding. Sonya |
Update 10/28/06:
Hey,
Well Ziggy is PERFECT. She had a really big day today, about a 5 hour car
ride. She took a few trips in small cities, met lots of new people and she
was a total star. I honestly couldnt have asked for a better dog. The trip
home she slept in her kennel most of the time, I pulled her out to cuddle
and she just layed on me and slept. Shes quite the affectionate puppy, loves
to jump on your lap and be loved! We got her home around 6:30pm, she was
nervous at first. Was really checking everything out. She met our other dog,
Sheba. They seem to really like each other. They were fooling around running
all over the house. She did the funniest thing I've ever seen though. We
have a very shiny (can see yourself in it) piano and Ziggy started growling
and barking at it. We later realized that she was staring at her own
reflection in the piano, it was extremely cute. She's been great about
everything, has a fabulous personality. Can be a real suck but loves to run
and play in the backyard. Shes the perfect dog for me and I'm extremely
thankful that you gave me the opportunity to buy her. I'll keep you updated
and eventually will send pictures too.
Kim
Update 10/30/06:
Well a couple days have gone by and her true colours are already showing. She follows me around EVERYWHERE, still loves to jump up on my lap for a
cuddle. We took her out to a farm yesterday. I was a bit worried she would
get curious and into the prickle bushes and that, but she was really good.
Stayed within 20 feet of me and whenever I called she would turn on a dime
and come right back to my side. Shes already pretty much house broke, makes
sure to let me know when she needs out. She already has learned the sit
command. She's really a very smart dog and she's really warmed up to my
family and seems to really enjoy herself. Thanks again for a great dog :)
Kim
Update 11/11/06:
I finally busted my camera out to take a few pictures. She has gotten a
little bigger! We weighed her the other day, she's exactly 19.8 pounds. We
think she's part cat too, she pounces on everything! Her toys, treats,
people . . . . She is quite the character, much more outgoing with other people
now. Although everytime I leave the room or call her she's right by my side,
I love that about her. She's also very very quick, whenever I play fetch
with her she's lightning quick to get her toy. She's very very bouncy, she's
got alot of spring in those legs! Hopefully she'll use that to her advantage
when we start agility. So thats my quick update, we're both looking forward to our trip to the
states. Maybe this time she won't bark and growl at the border guard . . hahah.
Heres a few pics
Hey,
So I caught Ziggy 'in the act' on camera so I thought I'd send you the pics. She has started this whenever somebody leaves and drives away . . She has to
watch them leave somehow! Enjoy

Update 11/27/06:
Hey,
I got some new pictures of Ziggy and thought I would share. We got record
snowfall the past few days and she loves it! We have a little over a foot of
snow in the backyard, more then Vancouver has gotten in a long long long
time. Anyways, I took lots of pictures so heres a few.
Enjoy!
Kim

Update 6/29/07:
I've put ziggy on a waitlist to start agility in the fall. She adores to
jump and run so I'm sure she will just love it! If everything goes well with
agility then I do hope to compete her when she's ready. I can't wait!
Update 10/10/07:
Ziggy has been doing really well. We've recently started taking some agility classes and she has really been excelling. We've started low jumps and tunnels. She runs through the obstacles like she's been running agility her whole life! We've also gotten to the point where we can walk off leash virtually everywhere. Being in a city it is harder but Ziggy just listens so well and is so loyal. Her training is coming along really really nicely, I'm impressed with how much she tries to please me. I will also be taking her herding again in a few weeks.
Update 10/28/07:
Ziggy obviously went as well, I took a lesson with her as she recieved her HIC in the past. That means that I got to start learning how to herd! It was pretty exciting and Ziggy worked very very well. The trainer says that we could easily enter some beginner classes in trials and do well. This may be something we try for fun, Ziggy just LOVES the sheep! She's definatly a natural. Got some pictures of her too.
